NASME
The National
Alliance of Sales and Marketing Executives (NASME) has merged its
operations with Sales and Marketing Executives-International. The
combined non-profit, SME-International, is the world's largest
association of sales and marketing managers.
"NASME is excited
to join forces with such an influential organization which shares our
vision to promote excellence in the sales and marketing profession,"
said Bruce Colwin, executive director of NASME. "It is particularly
satisfying in light of our shared history, which dates back to
1934."
The organization's
affiliate chapters throughout the world meet for the exchange of
ideas, news, and sales and marketing techniques as a way to meet
their three major objectives, detailed below:
- Management
Education. To enhance members' careers through professional
development, meetings, publications, and senior management
conferences.
- Sales &
Marketing Education. To provide professional information and
training for sales and marketing personnel.
- Youth
Education. To encourage students to pursue sales/marketing careers
through Junior Achievement, DECA, and Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE), the
college marketing fraternity founded by SME.
SME International
offers news, conferences, certification, and education. The SME Web
site has over 200,000 searchable articles covering all areas of sales
and marketing, as well as audio and video clips of marketing leaders
discussing their latest strategies and ideas.
To become a member
of SME you must be a professional sales/marketing consultant or
trainer, a key manager with responsibilities over sales or marketing,
or a CEO or company owner. Dues vary depending upon your region. For
