DataCard
500
DataCard has
released a new series of systems designed to fit the needs of
mid-volume card issuers. The DataCard 500 Series Systems offer many
of the same features and functions of the company's larger solution,
but in a more affordable mid-volume design.
According to
Bonnie Lervik, senior vice president of marketing for DataCard's
financial company, the typical application for the new systems
include centralized issuance of credit, debit, ATM, and stored value
cards as well as a full range of ID cards, such as loyalty marketing
cards and insurance membership cards.
The 500 series
includes two models, the 503 and 504. The 503 system can be
configured with a PC-based software controller and a choice of three
card personalization features. The 504 system can be configured with
the controller and four card personalization features. Both systems
will also offer an optional card delivery option, which allows card
issuers to print forms, affix cards, fold forms, and insert them into
envelopes. Inline capabilities also include embossing, indent
printing, color-topping, graphics, mag stripe encoding, and smart
card personalization. Up to 500 cards can be issued per
hour.
