A Thing BCG to Develop Software Tools for SEBA
BCG to Develop Software Tools for SEBA

Bancard Consulting Group, Inc. (BCG), announced it has signed a software development agreement with Southeast Bankcard Associates, Inc. (SEBA), a leading provider of issuing and acquiring services to member financial institutions with offices in Atlanta, Georgia. SEBA, and its participating banks provide services to more than 600,000 cardholders and 36,000 merchant locations nationwide.

Under the agreement, Bancard Consulting Group will design and develop custom software tools for purposes of systems integration as well as automating internal operations functions such as application processing, data entry, chargebacks and retrievals, exceptions processing and so on. SEBA will benefit greatly from the project which will increase efficiencies and strengthen revenues through the automation of many hard to manage, labor intensive functions. It is expected SEBAís client base will also be impacted positively through enhanced levels of customer service.

Peter Landreville, Senior Vice President of SEBA said, "Weíre very excited about Bancard Consulting Groupís software development tools. Itís just what we were looking for! The tools we are implementing combine an easy to use, highly automated Windows interface in front of our existing core processor. The efficiencies and functionality created through our partnership with BCG are tremendous. Weíll be able to expand our services without necessarily bringing on additional staff. We feel as though each of our client banks will benefit from this relationship in one way or another." He went on to say, "Weíre very impressed with the industry knowledge and experience that Vaden Landers and his staff bring to SEBA. They blend very well with the thought process, strategy and overall chemistry of our organization."

"The SEBA partnership is a major feather in our cap," said Vaden Landers, president of Bancard Consulting Group. "SEBA has, as a result of their top-notch programs and competitively priced services, formed a very large and broad base of client banks. The fact that the SEBA organization is growing at such a rapid pace, makes this a very exciting deal for both entities. We feel like the things we are doing together will allow SEBA to bring on additional pieces of business within their existing customer group, as well as creating the efficiencies necessary for bringing on even more new relationships."

SEBA was founded in 1968 by several of the leading banks in the Southeastern United States to perform credit card and merchant processing functions. SEBA was, and is, a member owned organization committed to providing its members with state-of-the art financial products while maintaining a "quality first" initiative. In 1975, SEBA contracted with First Data Corporation (FDC) to perform the processing functions for each of its member financial institutions. For almost 25 years running, First Data has been the processor of choice for SEBA. SEBA was poised, at one time, for a migration to the FDMS processing platform in Hagerstown, Maryland. During the planning stages of the conversion both SEBA and FDC agreed that the transition would be too painful and the conversion process died. However, the efficiency and ease of use of the FDMS system continued to impress SEBA. Bancard Consulting Groupís software was the solution that SEBA was looking for. BCGís custom software tools provide all of the functionality of the FDMS system without having to endure a difficult conversion process. FDC has acknowledged SEBAís commitment to the development of internal systems, and is following the progress of the SEBA/BCG joint venture. This strategic alliance is yet another indication of SEBAís on-going commitment to providing value added, technologically advanced products to its members.
