Tellan Software, Inc., has been selected by The First American Financial Corporation to participate in a new payment program, which will make First American the first in the title insurance industry to accept credit cards. Paymentech will facilitate the program.
With the implementation of this program, major credit cards can now be used to pay for title insurance, escrow, notary, and other miscellaneous fees, as well as home protection plans. In the first phase of what will ultimately be a nationwide card acceptance rollout, more than 100 First American Title Insurance locations throughout Northern California will use Tellan's PC Authorize for credit card payment processing.

For the Northern California rollout, First American will install PC AuthorizeHub in their Oakland IT headquarters with a dedicated line to Paymentech. More than 40 branch offices will access the software over the company's wide-area network, in addition to more than 100 branches that will use the single user version of PC Authorize to directly communicate with Paymentech. After credit card information and escrow data are entered by a First American representative, the data will then be forwarded to Paymentech for processing.
