Marketing
to Women In Cyberspace
No this isn't an ad for
Third Rock From the Sun, it's the current results of a National
Foundation for Women Business Owners (NFWBO) survey. If you deal with
software or Internet-based products, you may want to target
women-owned businesses. A study by IBM and the NFWBO has found that
women-owned businesses budgeted $67.2 billion for computer hardware
and software in the last year alone.
When it comes to the
Internet, there really is a difference between the sexes. Just 16% of
businesses owned by men have a home page compared to 23% of
businesses owned by women. Additionally, 47% of women- owned
businesses subscribe to an on-line service and 51% use the Internet
for business communications, but just 41% of their male counterparts
subscribe to on-line services and only 40% use the Internet for
communications.
