NDC Buys
CheckRite
CheckRite, one of the
nation's largest Verification companies, was acquired by National
Data Corporation. National Data Corporation and Data Broadcast
Corporation announced a definitive agreement under which NDC will
acquire substantially all of the assets of DBC's check services
business, CheckRite. The details of the acquisition have not been
announced.
Mike Egan, executive vice
president of CheckRite, stated, "This continues our long-standing
relationship with NDC and will expand the products and services that
we can offer our customers."
"This transaction
complements our existing check services business," said Tom Dunn,
NDC's general manager of Integrated Payment Systems. "It expands our
range of services and product offerings, as well as our geographic
reach, in a business that continues to perform very well for
us."
CheckRite, based in Salt
Lake City, currently serves approximately 35,000 merchants. The
company will operate within NDC's Payment Systems line of business
and will remain in Salt Lake City.
