I am interested in a Check Guarantee program for wholesale mail order merchants. I was searching for Check Guarantee Services and came across your Green Sheet. Are you affiliated with anyone? I am having a hard time finding certain companies and would like to contact them by email. Can you help? If so, below is who I am trying to contact:

I have some information for you. NPC can be reached at 1-800-334-9897, CheckCare at 1-972-380-5600, and SmartCheck at 1-800-657-6516. Capital Recovery is a collection agency to my knowledge, but I do not have a number for you. I am not aware of either TransCheck or AMV. Could AMV be ANB (formerly AMB)? They are at 1-847-823-5100 and have a check program.

It is not a bother for us to respond, that is the reason Green Sheet exists, and we are more than happy to help our readers if it is possible for us to do so. Given the particular business area that you are attempting to sell, I would say that ANB's program in Chicago may be a good fit for you overall. Please do me a favor and share your experience with me, after you have talked to these companies and picked a direction. What you end up doing and why will be of real interest to GS readers.

I'm a regular subscriber to your Green Sheet publication. 1. We're an agent for several ISOs, and we've grown to doing more than 50 accounts/month. As a result, we're interested in getting more information on how to get set up as an ISO. I'm writing to see if you've written about this in past publications, or if you can provide me with some information on how to do it. 2. We're looking to change our company name, and wanted to see if you knew of any companies named "Total Merchant Services." I appreciate any help you can give us. Thanks for your assistance.

There are numerous articles available on-line with tips on selling, recruiting sales reps; and ISO opportunities. I would suggest you check our Web site www.greensheet.com and peruse the "Prior Issues" index. The 1996 index is organized by subject or use our Site Search Engine for keyword searches of our backlist. Detailed information regarding registering as an ISO is available from your bank and will appear in an upcoming issue [see "On Becoming Registered"]. If you are still looking for a banking relationship, I would suggest that you contact the banks listed in the Resource Guide under Banks Looking for ISOs. Regarding "Total Merchant Services" we have no company by that name in our database.
