Smart Card Advisory Group Formed
The Tower Group and the Centum Consultancy, part of the VeriFone company, recently announced plans to form the Global Smart Card Advisory Service. The international research and advisory program is designed to provide competitive intelligence for the smart card industry.
According to Mike Shade, General Manager of The Centum Consultancy, "Our customers have frequently commented that currently available information lacks the depth and objectivity they require."
In response to concerns such as these, the service will conduct studies focusing on the smart card market and research marketplace activity. The group also plans to present meetings and provide telephone access to research staff.
The Smart
Card Advisory Services will target the senior management at large
financial services institutions and retailers who will be affected as
the smart card market grows. Potential members include processors,
data providers, government agencies, as well as hardware, software,
and communications product vendors.
This will be the first group to join the European, Asian, and North and South American markets.
