Green Sheet Survey
As the years go by in the writing and preparation of each Green
Sheet issue, I continue to be surprised at how we are able to
continue to find over 100,000 words to write each year, on subjects
and issues that seem to matter to Independent Sales/Service
Organizations in the Financial Services Industry. I am very pleased
to say that we are continuing to get very nice compliments on the
changes we have been making to The Green Sheet this year. In
hand written notes, e-mail, and lots of personal and phone
conversations, the general consensus seems to be (and yes we know
that we have some who think The Green Sheet is a rag) that we
are on the right track in continuing to make The Green Sheet
more valuable to the majority of our readers, both in our print and
on-line versions.
Since January, we have moved from our six-page, including the
Resource Guide, tri-fold format, to loose page advertising, to a
12-page double tri-fold, to our current 16-page format. In addition,
we have changed our layout and setup to permit more words, moving
from a word count of about 2,200 words every two weeks to more than
4,500 words. We have also created more space for side bars, Letters
to the Editor, our on-going cartoon section which is now designed to
have more industry and political commentary, and much, much more.
While the above things have been happening, the look and feel of
The Green Sheet On-line has also been changing. We've added a
new search engine that allows for two years of research on-line, Free
Classified ads, and banner ads with site links are now available.
Finally, in addition to the efforts we have made in these areas, we
believe we have improved the overall timeliness of the information,
backed by solid research and reporting, and are finding new ways to
save readers money by being Green Sheet subscribers.
While we
believe we are on the right path with an expanded vision, which is
confirmed by many readers, we are never satisfied and believe there
is much more we can do to make our efforts valuable to you as a
Green Sheet reader. We will be mailing our annual survey to
you in the next few days. We sincerely hope that you will help us
improve our efforts by responding to our survey, letting us know what
we can do to make The Green Sheet more valuable to YOU.
