Electronic Commerce Assoc. Joins Forces With
CrossCheck
The Electronic Commerce Association (ECA) has joined forces with
CrossCheck, Inc. to offer ECA members CrossCheck's full range of
Check Guarantee services and sales building features, it was recently
announced.
CrossCheck,
founded in 1983 and one of the leading Check Guarantee organizations
in the US, currently has more than 2,200 contract sales organizations
and field sales employees selling and servicing thousands of retail
customers nationwide and internationally. CrossCheck specializes in
sales building features that help retailers accept more checks and
offers merchants varying levels of Check Guarantee services that can
be accessed by PC, point-of-sale (POS) terminal, interactive voice
response, or live authorization agent. Included in the services are
such special arrangements as "floor plans" in which checks of certain
sizes and under are guaranteed by CrossCheck automatically at the
point-of-sale, and are batched and forwarded to CrossCheck at a later
point in the business day or week.
"Our philosophy is that we want to help the merchant make the
sale, we're not interested in simply getting rid of a check problem
like many of our competitors. A merchant wants to make a sale with
confidence, and at a cost that they can afford. If it was as simple
as getting rid of bad checks, merchants wouldn't really need any
help, they can simply stop accepting checks," said Ray Cook,
CrossCheck's Sr. Vice President Sales and Marketing, who said he was
excited by the prospect of having ECA members take special advantage
of CrossCheck's services, which boasts 50% more checks approved than
competing Check Guarantee service providers. "We don't believe more
declines are a better thing, we believe in more sales."
Among some of the other CrossCheck advantages ECA members are
going to be able to take advantage of, is the reimbursement of
bounced check charges, interest paid on bad checks from the day
received until the day paid, fault-free protection (if something
incorrect is done at the POS by a merchant or employee), acceptance
of multiple checks for down payment, and the fastest authorizations
in the industry with 950 terminal authorizations and free air miles.
