Self Motivation
In theory, it's pretty obvious that positive reinforcement goes a
lot farther than negative criticism. But, when you're frustrated with
a situation or performance, it's hard to refrain from faultfinding.
The same applies when accessing your own sales performance. When
analyzing your sales skills, or just having an internal dialogue, be
careful to avoid negative self talk, such as, "Cutting down the
competition was stupid. I've lost the account." Learn from your
failures and focus on your achievements, The comparisons between
companies was good, next time I will make it a little less
personal."
It's hard to see, but sometimes the most effective method of
changing performance is positive feedback and motivation. Try It!
