Check Fraud

 

The Fed has surveyed a random sample of 5,200 banks to find out if an extra day's hold on local checks would reduce losses from check fraud.

 

Results must be reported to Congress, with a recommendation on legislative action to amend the Expedited Funds Availability Act and Regulation CC, which implements the Act.

 

We will keep you informed of the recommendation and planned direction for Reg. CC.
