Equifax Merges Check and Card Companies
The Check company previously acquired by Equifax Inc. (Telecredit Inc., operating the Welcome Check Program), and the Bankcard business owned by Telecredit, have been merged into one opportunity unit.
The combination, explains Lee Kennedy, President and General Manager of the new unit, aims to leverage the company's strengths in the card and check businesses to create new growth opportunities.
"By putting these two organizations together and linking them back to Atlanta (Equifax Headquarters), we'll be able to pull more data from other Equifax businesses and deliver multiple solutions to the same terminals at the same point of sale," explains Kennedy.
Kennedy insists the Equifax reorganization was not prompted by the FDC-First Financial merger announcement. "We started working on this almost a year ago," notes Kennedy.
