ISOs Can Become ISPs

Internet - World Wide Web -Email

The GreenSheet is always looking for new ways for ISO's (our definition, Independent Sales Organizations) to improve their income stream. This can be accomplished by making ISO's aware of new, cheaper or more effective resources, such as in the case of Equipment or Site Survey work, or most often in the form of new income opportunities.

Just like Bankcard and Check Guarantee, this service offers income from application fees, and lifetime residuals.

In this case, it is a new income opportunity being referred to by some as, an Internet Services Provider (ISP). I know, you are saying to yourself what does this have to do with financial services? Well surprisingly, more than you might first imagine. Begin thinking of your business as being in the "Promotional and Financial Transaction Processing business" and this begins to make sense.

I can not imagine where you would be living or in what interest areas you spend your time, where you don't encounter the current barrage of "Information Highway" metaphors, or Internet growth predictions.

The Internet consists of a mind-bogglingly huge number of participants, connected machines, software, and a massive quantity of information, spread all around the world.

Currently (this is a relative term) the number of "Host" Internet sites, is 4.8 Million World Wide, and growing at over 1 million new sites every six months. (You can check this out yourself on the Web at http://www.nw.com/.)

Let's look at the business proposition. Consider the following:You have already sold your local Chinese Restaurant, a Point-of-sale terminal, Visa/MasterCard, CrossCheck Check Guarantee, and maybe American Express. You have a rapport with the owner, and you have learned that he/she has a booming lunch "delivery" trade with local businesses in the high-rise office buildings in the area. So you propose that the NEXT service that you offer, is to create an Internet Web page site for the restaurant. That's right, cyberspace advertising.

The page creation needs to have the look and feel of the restaurant, so perhaps the Web page metaphor is a photo of the front of the business, or cuddly panda bears with the restaurant name, might do the trick. In any case it needs to create something rich and interesting that focuses on the business, as the corporate customers dial in to the restaurant Web page and order take out, on-line. Of course, you update that Web page with the restaurant menu, update regularly with new dishes and two for one take out specials. This particular customer's description is intentionally a smaller merchant example, to reflect the fact that the concept and revenue stream potential are available for even the very smallest merchants. So, now let's consider something larger!

You call on Victoria Secrets or your favorite mail order business. The catalog that they already invest in could be electronic, and connected to a custom Internet order system, sold by you. Of course you might not get this advertising/Web opportunity, but then you might also get to talk to them about their financial services while you are there. Now are you beginning to see the possibilities to leverage your current and future financial service sales. In addition to selling the creative services of the Web page, (you of course make money doing this), you sell the system to run the Web Page, 24 HRS-a-day 365 days-a-year, with full creative updates. Naturally, you make money on each phone inquiry, and on the small monthly Web Page maintenance costs.

The point of all this is that every merchant you visit needs a presence on the Internet. The Internet has a growing base of more than fifty million active users. Talk about exposure! Now we get down to the question, how do I learn more about this? Well, one such company specializing in this new opportunity is Multiplex Media Corporation (MMC) in Temecula, California. MMC is already the home of over 500 companies, from simple static web pages to full catalogs with on-line order and payment transaction processing, all serviced by a very fast T3 connection.

Brain Roemmele, President of MMC says "Our company is offering a turn-key, ground floor sales opportunity to ISO/MSP offices and salespeople. No experience is necessary with our exclusive, market proven program. It will begin to yield you dollars today.

"With Multiplex Media Corporation you can begin offering Web pages for your new and existing customers, on the World Wide Web, and linked to every search system. This can give the local restaurant a new presence in their local market place, or a large scale merchant, particularly mail-order/phone order businesses, a World Wide customer potential for orders. In addition to page design and turn-key run capabilities an ISO or ISP can also offer video, order entry, email and auto-mail responders, in addition to the Web page. Once again, just like Bankcard and Check Guarantee, this service offers income from application fees, and lifetime residuals.

Finally, if you are computer literate you have probably already seen someone within your market that seems to be doing the same thing. I will note that within Northern California, I was readily able to find someone within ten miles of our office that seems to be doing the same thing, West Coast On-line (WCO). WCO refers to itself as a complete Internet Service Provider, but then again, so could you, by simply calling Multiplex Media Corporation. Multiplex President Brian Roemmele has been a Bankcard ISO, and therefore understands what you need to make a new revenue stream make sense. Like Bankcard, it would seem that the early players will yield the greatest profit, so check this out. Multiplex Media Corporation can be reached at 1-800-383-3953 extension 4321.
