A New Way to View GS - GSQ Also Expanding

R eaders and advertisers will benefit from some exciting new changes - one available right now, the other right around the corner - in The Green Sheet and GSQ.

First, the immediate: The Green Sheet is now available online (www.greensheet.com) in PDF format, which means that readers can obtain useful information about the payment-processing industry in four ways: in print; by reading current or archived GS information online; by reading it online, in PDF format, just as they would in print; and by downloading the text to a PDA.

The PDF format creates an advantage for advertisers as well: Their ads and targeted messages - including the Resource Guide - will exist on the Web, just as they were created, in perpetuity. That's even more bang for their advertising buck.

Speaking of bucks, ISOs can save a few and still get The Green Sheet: Print subscriptions are now free to ISOs. "The growth and direction of the publication has enabled us to expand our areas of service to readers and provide exceptional and cost-effective accommodations to our advertisers," said Paul Green, Editor in Chief. "Being able to offer the Green Sheet online in PDF format together with the free subscriptions underscores our efforts to be the primary resource for the ISO industry."

The other important change is in GSQ, our in-depth analysis of specific sectors of the industry. It is being expanded from four times a year to five in 2002 and to six in 2003.

"The technology boom and the rise of the ATM sector have made it only natural to expand the number of GSQ issues that we publish every year," Green said. "Our thorough research of these subjects benefits ISOs in the same way as our reports on equipment, check authorization, bankcard acquiring and the ISO channel."

The 21st century is all about electronics, and more and more people are accessing www.greensheet.com than ever before. The site averages about 100,000 page hits per month.

The PDF-formatted Green Sheet will be available to everyone when the current issue is posted on the Web site, giving online readers the upper hand with the most current information available. However, the password-protected HTML version is available for previewing in advance of the publication date.

Kyle Rankin, Green Sheet network administrator and Webmaster, said of the new PDF format, "Before, only certain sections of the Green Sheet were posted online. Now, all text and associated graphics are online, laid out just like the printed version. But when you want to search for information, use the old HTML format."

The PDF format is readable by downloading Adobe Acrobat Reader. To read the Green Sheet from a PDA, download Avantgo. Both programs are free.
