Global Payments Expands

G lobal Payments Inc. is taking its comprehensive purchasing card offering to the next level with the certification of Internet technology provider 3Delta Systems Inc. This highly flexible suite of Web-based payment processing solutions extends the functionality of Global Payments' purchasing card offering to include Internet processing for Level III1 transactions.

The addition of Internet-based purchasing card processing complements Global Payments' existing business-to-business product set, which includes terminal-based, EDI2 and PC-based purchasing card solutions.

Purchasing cards are specialized credit cards used by corporate and government entities to simplify the process of purchasing goods and services. The cards are typically Visa, MasterCard or American Express issued, and they are supported by powerful reporting and control software used by corporate and government buyers.

An important element of a purchase card program is for the card user to capture and report specific information about the purchase, including tax, accounting codes and detailed information about what was purchased (item description, quantity, unit price, etc.).

"Global Payments' partnership with 3Delta Systems represents our commitment to embracing the latest in technology in an effort to offer our business-to- business customers flexible, reliable and innovative products designed to assist them in attaining business success," said Barry Lawson, Chief Information Officer, Global Payments. "These solutions allow suppliers to minimize costs and maximize internal efficiencies in ways that best suit their unique operational requirements."

Aaron Bills, Vice President of Development and Strategic Relations, 3Delta Systems, said, "Our agreement with Global Payments allows merchants of all sizes, with all levels of system sophistication, to benefit from the cost- saving efficiencies associated with industry-leading, Internet-based Level III purchasing card processing."

1Level III is the highest level of data capture defined by both Visa and MasterCard. In addition to the information required to complete a Level II transaction, Level III adds line-item details (item-by-item descriptions of each component of the purchase) and other data. This captured information is reported back to the company originating the transaction.
