Message Management Made Easier

V eriFone recently introduced VeriCentre Message Management Module, a two- way communications system that enables banks, processors and acquirers to send customized text and graphics messages to any of their merchants that have Verix-based terminals installed.

Messages can be scheduled for automated delivery at any time, and merchants can reply to messages or initiate requests using pre-formatted templates. Messages can be displayed or printed and are automatically matched with the appropriate application.

"We're helping our processor customers replace the expensive phone calls, mailings and faxes they would normally send to their merchants with direct messages sent right to the point-of-sale where they'll be seen," said Bud Waller, vice president of North American sales for VeriFone.

The Message Management Module is VeriFone's latest addition to the VeriCentre Appliance Management Suite, part of VeriFone's new multi- application, global e-payment platform. The Appliance Management Suite is a complete, scalable and open-application solution that helps processors and acquirers better manage terminals, merchants' needs and data downloads while generating new revenue streams and reducing total cost of ownership.

The Message Management Module resides on a central server that calls upon two remote applications, VeriCentre Composer and VeriCentre Messenger, to provide the full range of two-way communications. The VeriCentre Composer application resides on a server or PC client, while the VeriCentre Messenger application resides on a Verix-based terminal. The VeriCentre Composer application enables distributed businesses to create and send messages to the Message Management Module via e-mail, where they are retrieved or sent on to the terminals.

VeriFone is a global provider of secure electronic payment solutions for financial institutions, merchants and consumers. The division has shipped more than nine million electronic-payment systems, which are used in more than 100 countries. For more information, visit www.verifonehp.com.
