Nothin' But Netbilling

I f you have merchants who need a full service transaction processing company or if you have a merchant that wants to accept online orders but doesn't know where to start, this article is for you.

Netbilling Services provides real-time credit card authorization and funds transfer in a secure online environment. Netbilling is also now processing online checks. Thousands of online merchants worldwide already take advantage of Netbilling's gateway processing system, which is focused on providing reliable processing at reasonable rates, while maintaining a high degree of flexibility and customer service. In addition to processing, Netbilling also provides membership site management, e-commerce shopping solutions, and advanced fraud detection services.

Distinctive Traits

Mitch Farber, President of Netbilling told us, Netbilling's main advantage over other processing companies is the fact that we offer so much to the merchants. We really pride ourselves in the fact that we handle merchants from start to finish helping them get online and selling their products and services. Netbilling is in the business of partnerships and hand holding.

One of the features that makes Netbilling unique is their customizable Web-based shopping cart. The shopping cart integrates with their transaction processing to facilitate quick online store building. The shopping cart does not require that the merchant have programming experience and best of all, it is free to all Netbilling merchants. A merchant does not even need to pay for Web hosting, as he/she can come to Netbilling and we will give him a free shopping cart and host it for him, without him/her even having to have their own web site, said Farber. This is very exciting and cost effective for new merchants just getting into the business. Netbilling's gateway easily interfaces with most commercial shopping cart systems so a merchant is free to choose a different shopping cart as well. Netbilling takes the time to teach online merchants one-on-one how to use our system and maximize their online potential, continued Farber.

Another characteristic that makes Netbilling stand out is their recently expanded customer service center. The new center provides online merchants access to staff specifically trained to handle customer correspondence, billing inquiries, refunds, cancellations, and other details that eat up time. This allows the merchants to focus on marketing their site and eliminates the need to invest in a toll free phone number. Netbilling's customer service center is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and they have doubled their current support staff to handle the extended hours.

Additional Features

In addition to the features listed above, Netbilling also offers recurring billing with variable merchant and customer notifications, including e-mailed customer receipts. The program includes duplicate signup prevention, automated password verification, and extensive real-time reporting. They also provide fraud prevention tools, including a large negative credit card database as well as address and ZIP code verification.

Netbilling also has the ability to process for International merchants. They mainly have U.S. merchants but they do offshore processing as well. They have created relationships with several offshore banks, which allows them to legitimately process credit cards for merchants worldwide, including hard to place high-risk, adult, and casino operations.

How to get started

Getting a merchant set up with Netbilling and integrating their transaction processing into a Web site requires no investment in back-end commerce hardware or software, and there are no development costs. If a merchant has not yet obtained a merchant account from the processing bank, they can go to the Netbilling Web site to pre-qualify for a merchant account. The merchant account will allow the merchant to accept major credit cards and bill them through the Netbilling processing system. If a merchant already has an Internet merchant account, they can go to Netbilling.com and signup for processing services immediately.

Netbilling transactions average between 1 and 15 seconds. The initial setup fee is $195 and set up is usually within 24 hours of the bank establishing the merchant account. Transaction fees are 1.5% and 15 cents per transaction and a flat rate pricing plan for merchants selling higher ticket items is also available.

Netbilling has partnered with many companies who know the value of the services we offer and are confident that the customers they set up to process with us will be well taken care of, said Farber. Netbilling is always looking for additional merchant account providers that they can refer merchants to for accounts. As a referring partner, a provider will be incorporated into the provider list that Netbilling gives to any merchant looking for additional merchant account services.

Netbilling is looking for strong relationships from merchant account providers that can set up and maintain accounts for all types of businesses including, mainstream, high risk, and offshore. They are constantly seeking ISOs, Web hosting companies, and ISPs to become referring entities for their processing services. Farber stated, Netbilling pays referring entities 10% residuals of monthly gross and well as a $10 per month gateway fee, and offers a reduced setup fee of $99. Netbilling handles all billing and receivables of merchants and pays the referring partner directly.
