Delivering convenience and flexibility

Established in 2016, Sound Payments is a multichannel, diversified technology company that aims to create simplified, innovative solutions in the payments, healthcare and financial services industries. Products include software and hardware, technical and customer service, training, cloud solutions, and advanced security and compliance ‒ all through value-added, flexible subscriptions.

Sound Payments is headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., and employs more than 50 experts and professionals across the United States. The company launched with a single-focused business channel concentrated on introducing its semi-integrated cloud solution to market. This product is now being used by over 10,000 companies, Sound Payments noted.

Since then, the enterprise has expanded its portfolio of offerings, incorporating additional business technologies for commerce, banking and healthcare. Its commerce solutions include an all-in-one, electronic cash register (ECR) solution and the new Quantum Petro product, a cloud-based, retrofit petroleum solution designed to cost-effectively enable EMV payments at petroleum pumps.

"We have a great team of experts and leaders who work hard to make a difference in the industry and solve problems that resellers and merchants face on a daily basis," said Andrew Russell, President at Sound Payments. "This next year will be very exciting for us as we introduce our petroleum solution to the industry and become a major player in the market."

Robust, scalable solutions

In addition to a suite of customized, vertical-specific payment and business solutions, Sound Payments also offers brick-and-mortar and ecommerce merchants integrated cloud solutions, strategically designed to scale for companies of all sizes.

Sound Payments' direct commerce solutions are built to handle sensitive data in a cloud-based environment to assure cardholder information stays outside the POS and merchant back office. The merchant's terminal is programmed to interface directly with the processor to remove the merchant's business software from PCI scope, provide an encapsulated EMV environment, and eliminate risk and compliance costs. According to the company's website, the cloud-based environment, "not only provides all the functions and features of a standard semi-integrated payment solution, but also includes value-added services that were previously difficult to implement and cost prohibitive to obtain."

Sound Payments' cloud-based suite includes a business solutions package that provides POS aggregation, consolidated reporting and analytics to aide merchants with decision making. This package also includes automated inventory control, pricing and discount, accounting and payroll, and customer satisfaction tools, as well as real-time reconciliation to enable the merchant to input sales data directly through an accounting application. Merchants can also take advantage of embedded trend analysis tools to capture customer spending patterns.

Fast response to market demand

Sound Payments said all of its commerce products are optimally geared for resale, giving ISOs and independent software vendors (ISVs) a powerful cloud-based POS and ecommerce complement to offer merchant customers. The company also offers ISO and ISV partners turnkey API coding and focused integration services.

The company's recent launch of the E500 all-in-one ECR provides resellers with a new generation ECR, powered by the Android 6.0 system. The E500 accepts any payment method, including card payments (magnetic, chip, contactless, and quick-response code), UnionPay, WeChat, and AliPay. Also included are a built-in printer and inventory management.

"The response to the ECR has been extremely positive since our launch at the beginning of the year," said Scott McArthur, senior vice president of commerce solutions and technology. "This will be our biggest year in terms of sales, operations and overall company growth."

Sound Payments' leadership feels the E500 and Quantum Petro products are examples of the company's ongoing commitment to deliver best-in-class solutions consistently across all channels, as well as its focus on continuing to create software and hardware that meets a need in the market.

"What makes Sound Payments unique is its ability to quickly respond to market changes and provide better solutions in response to those changes," said Bill Pittman, senior vice president of sales and strategy. end of article
