Making payments user friendly

Fluid Pay LLC launched in 2017, introducing a proprietary, cloud-based payment gateway application to ISOs, value-added resellers, merchant services providers and developers of all applications. Based in the Chicago suburb of Wheaton, Ill., Fluid Pay concentrates on helping its partners support customers that range from multimillion-dollar, multilocation businesses to mom-and-pop shops across the globe.

The Fluid Pay gateway is backed by three independently located data centers, enabling the company to offer 24/7/365 service and Level 1 Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliance. The gateway data resides in the Google Cloud, allowing for unlimited scalability, high speed, maximum security and, according to Chief Operating Officer Nick Cucci, virtually zero downtime.

Fluid Pay's gateway solution was recently ranked second out of 12 major gateways in the world in the Strawhecker Group Gateway Enterprise Metrics Report and received first place rankings in that report for Fastest Mastercard Transaction, Gateway Availability and Transaction Success Rates. Under the API Integration Review section, the gateway also ranked first in six categories.

Experience matters

Fluid Pay was founded by Nick Cucci and Jeff Rooney. The two were later joined by Ted Cucci in 2018. Rooney is master certified in many security areas. He serves as the chief technology officer and main architect of FluidPay.com.

Rooney has an extensive background in security and programming and runs all aspects of the information technology structure at Fluid Pay.

Nick Cucci is experienced in sales, marketing and security. A certified fraud examiner, he is responsible for monitoring all aspects of sales, as well as fraud trends.

Ted Cucci is the company's president and CEO, as well as board chairman. A founder of Network Merchants Inc., Cucci served NMI as chief operating officer, enhancing Fluid Pay with over 21 years of payments industry experience. "I am honored and excited to lead Fluid Pay," Ted Cucci said. "They share the same core values as myself, and together, we will execute the company's strategy."

The Fluid Pay leaders also share an ideal that the payments industry has become too complex and should be simplified. Accordingly, the company's main public relations statement reads, "With industry leading minds, Fluid Pay aims to create a suite of payment industry tools with a business centric approach in mind. It's time to simplify the complexity of payment gateways and the payments industry."

One suite, seamless service

"We wanted to develop the first 100 percent, fully cloud-based payment gateway in the industry," Rooney said. "Not only were we able to accomplish this, but we were also able to integrate an extremely powerful rule engine that powers our fraud scrubber called Watchdog."

The Fluid Pay gateway product suite offers an array of functions, including an API that, according to Rooney, is built for simplicity and to be independent software vendor/developer friendly. Additional features include the WatchDog fraud-scrubbing service, semi-integrated and EMV-certified remote terminal provisioning, countertop and mobile solutions, intuitive e-invoicing, recurring billing, customer vault, and more.

Moreover, the company's support is handled by top-tier staff with more than 20 years of industry experience, including a team of engineers and developers, all of whom strive to achieve first-call resolution every time.

Putting the partner first

In addition to offering a product the company touts as "a true white-label payment gateway," Fluid Pay charges only a single monthly fee that includes the entire product offering. It also maintains a "non-compete guarantee," which states Fluid Pay will never compete with its partners by offering merchant accounts. In fact, Fluid Pay noted that merchants must be sponsored by an approved "Fluid Pay partner" to utilize the company's technology.

As far as the company's outlook for the future, Ted Cucci indicated the company is doubling in size monthly. "Keep an eye out for us; this will be exciting," he said. end of article
