Fueled by cultural empathy

Cultural attributes, along with a compassionate mission to support the entrepreneurial dream one transaction at a time, are central to what Payscout Inc. emphasizes while expanding its reach in the payments world. "Every business owner has a dream," stated Cleveland Brown, Payscout's chief executive officer. "Our duty as their business partner is to help them pursue that dream by providing access to sustainable, efficient and innovative methods for accepting payment from their customers."

Founded by Brown and company president Manpreet Singh in 2011, Payscout is a global payment processing provider serving merchants on six continents with credit, debit, ATM and alternative payment networks. The company is headquartered in Sherman Oaks, Calif. with four branch offices across the globe. Payscout has been recognized as one of America's fastest-growing privately held companies by Inc. Magazine from 2014 through 2017, respectively ranking 2,416, 434, 383, and 521 on the Inc. 500/5000 list. The corporation was also ranked at 17 among midsize companies on the 2017 Entrepreneur Top Company Cultures list.

In addition to eight core attributes Payscout defines its culture by – integrity/trust, reliability, innovation, fun, best idea wins, feedback welcomed, customer happiness, and always learning – the company also abides by the belief that every individual has a social responsibility to make the world a better place. Payscout puts this value into practice through donations to education, business and youth-centered causes, as well as its social responsibility program, Payscout Gives, that offers employees the chance to benefit their communities through volunteerism, donations and a partnership with the Jefferson Awards youth empowerment organization.

Inspiring thought leadership

Within the payments industry, Payscout has established a presence akin to the company's innovative spirit. In addition to its signature Go Global Now technology platform that, according to company statements, gives merchants instant access to 100+ countries, billions of consumers and trillions of dollars, Payscout was also the first payment processor to ever conduct a live transaction for purchased goods via a virtual reality (VR) headset.

And, it doesn't stop there. In keeping with its mission and beliefs, the company built the world's first VR donation portal to benefit the Jefferson Awards Foundation. This groundbreaking application was showcased at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in January 2018.

Brown and Singh also serve on multiple industry and community-facing committees, and Brown advocates for the industry each year at the Electronic Transaction Association's Capitol Hill Fly-In event. In addition, Brown speaks at conferences worldwide about the importance of electronic payments in the global economy and innovations such as VR payments.

In his June 2017 address to the Money 20/20 EU audience, Brown heralded Payscout's new VR application, calling it a "watershed moment" for payments and VR. "We've seen many prototypes and simulations of VR shopping, but this is the first time anyone can experience real commerce in VR," he added.

Growth and development

In addition to supporting thousands of clients across a multitude of industries and all 50 U.S. states, Payscout is also a licensed Financial Institution in the European Union and maintains global partnerships with Visa USA, Bank of America Merchant Services, Visa Europe, Visa Latin America, Visa Asia Pacific, Mastercard, China Union Pay, and First Data Corp.

The company's growth strategy combines acquisitions and organic growth, spurred by sales development and the release of new technologies like the Condor Payment Portal, a self-serve, embedded billing and payment interface released by Payscout in 2018.

Culture continues to play a vital role as Payscout carries out its strategic vision. Referring to the company's most recent acquisition, Brown noted, "Paywire's entrepreneurial spirit and cutting-edge payment technologies are a natural fit for Payscout's innovative culture." end of article
