Hello Mr. Green:
We are a full service Internet-based merchant services/e-commerce company looking for a merchant services bank to bring our portfolio to.
Julie O'Ryan-Dempsey was kind enough to fax me a list of several banks, some of which provide merchant accounts and some that do not.
Could you take a moment to point me in the right direction to some banks that provide merchant accounts, are Internet savvy, are supportive, communicative, and are fair with their representatives?
Thank you very much,
Maryanne Donovan DeMarco

Hello Paul:
My name is Jake Haycock and the company I work for is RDM Corporation. RDM manufactures the EC5000i image scanner.
I read The Green Sheet and find that it has a lot of useful information. You appear to be an expert on the payment industry. I have been doing some research and I am wondering if you could verify and/or add to information that I have obtained.
I have been told that ISOs and VARS use mainly the VeriFone Tranz 330 and 460 and that these are the most popular terminals and are the industry standard. Also, that the new VeriFone Omni 396 terminal has not become a popular terminal within the industry and the Tranz terminals are still the most commonly used terminals. Is this true? Does VeriFone still manufacture the Tranz, or are these refurbished units?
Lastly, I'm not sure if you would know this information but what is the percentage of Tranz terminals currently in the market opposed to the Omni?
I realize that this is a lot to ask of someone I have never met before, however I have exhausted my other sources. Any information would be helpful.
Thank you,
Jake Haycock

Jake:
First, please provide me with your mailing address, I have a GSQ (Green Sheet Quarterly May 1999) magazine on this subject that I wish to send to you.
According to our recent survey the most requested terminal at the moment is a VeriFone 330, followed by a VeriFone 460. VeriFone still outsells all others two to one, but the hottest terminals are the Hypercom T7P followed by the Nurit 2080.
The largest body of terminals in the market is most likely the VeriFone Zon Jr, Plus, XL, and XL300, with a lot of Tranz products in recent years. The Omni's are the latest devices from VeriFone, with the Omni 3200 being the most recent introduction.

I have a very exciting company and I am looking for a company that is doing phone card activations over the VisaNet. I know this is happening and I think Qwest is working with them. Can you help me find the name of this company?

Hi Paul,
BellSouth is trying to put together a new revenue opportunity for the ISO community and we were wondering if there is a list of ISOs that you have in database that we can use for the mailing. We realize that your magazine hits many ISOs. Your help on this would be greatly appreciated. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for your consideration.
Regards,
Linda Maia Lopes

Linda:
Sorry we do not provide our ISO mailing list to anyone. I assume that you know that many ISOs do not want to be found.
